Cambridge Women’s Bible Conference

Historically, for a number of years we had seen an annual Bible conference for women in the East Anglia area taking place.

This had lapsed with various people moving on to new pastures. In the course of 2017 a group of women had a vision to see such a conference brought back, and it has now been running again for 2 years based at Eden Baptist Church and Christ Church near the centre of Cambridge. With the annual London Women’s Conference now having stopped, regional conferences such as these, seem to be meeting a real need, in locations that are often much easier to get to and that are more cost effective.

What are the aims of the conference?

To teach, equip and encourage women to live for Jesus

  • Bringing together Christian women from across the region
  • Women teaching women (Titus 2:3-5)
  • Large group expository teaching
  • Bible study and prayer
  • Seminars to extend and equip
  • Worshipping God together
Who organizes the conferences?

The Cambridge Women’s Bible Conference is organised by an interdenominational group of evangelical women representing a number of churches around Cambridge including Eden Baptist Church, St Andrew the Great, Christ Church Cambridge, Christ Church South Cambs, St Neots Evangelical Church, Christ Church Trumpington and St Matthews Cambridge. The Cambridge Women’s Bible Conference operates in partnership with the East Anglia Gospel Partnership.

What have the 2 recent conferences focused on?

In February 2018 our theme was Abide and the talks were located in John 15, with Jane McNabb as our main speaker. In March 2019 our theme was Our Living Hope and the talks were based in 1 Peter 1. Our speaker was Carolyn Lacey.

What about next year?

We are now planning for 2020 encouraged by a really positive and enthusiastic response! Next year’s conference will take place on Saturday 21st March and we will be based at Eden Baptist Church and Christ Church in Cambridge again. Our speaker is Elinor Magowan who currently is the Women’s Ministry Co-ordinator with the FIEC. Publicity is likely to be available in October of this year and facebook will also give more details in the meantime. We hope to see you there!
